There are both advantages and disadvantages to home schooling, and so when it comes to the matter of deciding is home schooling good or bad, all of these, pros and cons, need to be taken into consideration. There are those who praise the home schooling idea and those who are strictly against it, and both sides need to be heard out before you can come to a proper opinion on the subject.

When it comes to the issue of is home schooling good or bad, we can see that one of the main advantages of home schooling is that the children are able to stay home with their parent, rather than having to go into school, and so thus they get to spend more time with their family and bond with them.

As well, you save a lot of money because you do not have to buy school clothes for your children, or as much school supply equipment, and so on. You will also save in various other ways, such as on cafeteria and sports team costs, for instance.

There are also disadvantages as well however when it comes to the issue of is home schooling good or bad, one in particular being that your child or children will not get to socialize as much. Although they will be getting to hang out with you and the rest of the family more, but they will not be hanging out with new people, children of their own age who they can relate to.

This socialization process is actually incredibly important to a child's development process overall, and so if you do decide to home school your child, you are going to have to make sure that you make up for the lack of socialization each day by bringing them out to hang out at the park with other children, or enrolling them in various classes or courses.

Another disadvantage is that you will have to change or alter your career. If your child is going to be home with you during the day and you are teaching them, then you will obviously not be able to go out to work yourself, as you would if they were actually in school. Although there are clearly ways around this, it can be a very frustrating and difficult issue and most of the time will result in a lower income for the household.
